"This scene, a detached section from a set of three illustrated narrative handscrolls (emakimono), presents the conclusion of the amorous tale of a Buddhist monk and his young acolyte, who in a previous scene has taken his own life by drowning. A procession for raigo-e, a ritual ceremony celebrating Amida Buddha and his retinue of bodhisattvas, descends and crosses a bridge to welcome the souls of the departed and guide them to paradise with music and song."

In the making of my project, I wanted to incorporate visuals of floral and fauna into my piece, while also stabilizing a Peak. As I was working on it I came across a few diffrent pieces that I felt would stand out to me and help my vision in making a natural yet structured array of Japanese scenery. The two artworks above encompassed the ideas I was looking for, as the "A Long Tale for an Autumn Night" for instance had alot of natural bits while also feeling familiar in its design.
